The Beginning!

By Thomas Beer

Welcome to my blog, here you will learn about my life and all the hard lessons I have learned. To some these lessons might come as a no brainer, but to me they have changed my life forever.

It all started about 11 years ago when I started at Mt. Spokane high school. It was obvious to everyone at the time I was not popular and had only a handful of real friends. I was a below average, out of shape, squeaky voiced loser. I allowed people to push me around and walk over me, it just didn’t bug me. This went on until the end of my sophomore year when I was told I would have to attend summer school or repeat my sophomore year. Since they told me that I would get paid to go to summer school I agreed, plus my mom would have killed me if I didn’t.

During summer school I met alot of cool people. These people where, the jocks, the car junkies, the popular guys/girls, they where the bullies, and every other click that high schools have. Most where the same people that would make fun of me or totally ignore me normally, but for once they saw me as their equal. For one summer we where, I used that summer to my benefit, not only did I get money, and credit to graduate, but I used it to make the friends I normally wouldn’t have. The following year I thought for sure that things would have gone back to they way they where, I was wrong.

Turns out I made such an impact in those peoples lives that they still saw me as their friend. For once I was becoming popular, course my last name helped with that one.The next two years where the great, no one messed with me and I was one liked by most. I started playing tennis my junior year and got into better shape. I kept my grades up as well as I could and was overall happy. When graduation and my senior all nighter came I saw it as my last chance to see how far I had come. I was shocked when I was called to get my diploma and almost my entire class shouted and cheered instead of the normal clapping I thought I would have gotten. Chills ran down my spine like I just won the lottery. I knew at that moment that I had succeeded, I had made a complete 180 from the person I was when I started high school.

But I was in for the shocker of my life the next few years….
